Seems Right…

But WRONG!

"There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death." Proverbs 14:12, niv. "I feel like what I believe is right." But, does that make it right? "There is a way that seems right, but…" "I feel in my heart that I’m saved." But, does that mean you ARE saved? "There is a way that seems right, but…" "My conscience is clear; I feel like I’m OK with God." So did Saul—when he was persecuting Christians! He said, "I have lived my life with a perfectly good conscience before God up to this day…I thought to myself that I had to do many things hostile to the name of Jesus…" Acts 23:1; 26:9. It seemed to him at the time it was the right thing to do. He could go to sleep at night feeling good about serving God. But, he was WRONG! Had he continued in what "seemed right," it would have "lead to death"!

Muslims, New Agers, Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, Baptists, etc., all feel they are right. ALL of them CANNOT be right! Feelings, emotions, conscience are not the standard of right. God is, and He has revealed His standard in the Bible. "Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily, to see whether these things were so." Acts 17:11, nasb.
